Registration for the 2008-2009 School Year

Students, with parental guidance, should have signed up for classes online through Family Access.   If you do not know your Family Access code and password please contact the registrar at your current school.  Please click here if you would like online registration directions.

The due date for all registration sign-ups was Tuesday, March 18.

If, after requesting  classes online, a student wishes to change their requests we are asking that they contact their counselor.

Course Offerings
With very few exceptions both SHS and GPHS will be offering the same classes.  The exceptions are the Senior courses which will only be offered at SHS for the 2008-2009 school year.  The JROTC classes will be headquartered at SHS but will be open to GPHS students with transportation provided during the school day. Please click here to  see the complete 2008 -2009 Course Description Book.

Enrollment
Boundary lines defining SHS and GPHS attendance areas were established in the 2005-2006 school year.  Those students who are south and west of the Snohomish River and attend or attended Valley View Middle School will automatically be enrolled at Glacier Peak.   The exceptions will be those students who went to Central/Emerson. The Central/Emerson students should have already received a letter from the District giving them the opportunity to choose which school they wish to attend.

Transfers

Students who are currently not enrolled in the Snohomish School District, reside in the GPHS enrollment area and would like to attend GPHS.
Students who live within the GPHS boundaries and wish to attend GPHS but are currently attending a school outside the Snohomish School District will need to fill out a registration packet which can be obtained from Snohomish High School, the Freshman Campus or the District Office.  After completing the packet, please contact the GPHS registrar, Cheryl Mendenhall, at 360-563-4308 or at cheryl.mendenhall@sno.wednet.edu to arrange an appointment with a counselor.

Students who are currently not enrolled in the Snohomish School District, reside outside the GPHS enrollment area but would like to attend GPHS:
Students who do not reside within the boundaries of the Snohomish School District must visit their own school district offices and complete an “Application for Attendance In A Non-Resident District” and have that district sign it off before we (SSD) can entertain registering that student in our schools. Our variance applications are available at the District Resource Service Center.  Students whose variances were approved before March 1, 2008 will be able to register for classes at GPHS in the spring of 2008. Students who apply for variances after March 1, 2008 will have to wait until mid June 2008 to know if their variance has been approved.

Students who are currently enrolled in one of the high schools and wish to transfer to the other.
Enrollment in either SHS or GPHS is based on attendance area and is considered a permanent assignment.   Changes will not be made (as per School District policy) without applying for an attendance variance.   Please click here for complete information on this process.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the GPHS office currently located on the SHS campus at Kris.VanderSanden@sno.wednet.edu or at 360-563-4207 from 6:30am to 3:00pm.
